K-12 Programs: Summer Theatre Workshop

Live and Learn Theatre at SFA

Entering its 50th year, this is the oldest program of its kind in the state of Texas. The workshop consists of two weeks of concentrated instruction in acting, voice and movement, or scenery, costumes, make-up, sound, lighting and stage management for high school students at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.

Students live in air-conditioned residence halls and study at the Griffith Fine Arts Building on the beautiful SFA campus.

Offered in its long-standing busy format , the workshop is headed by secondary educator and longtime SFA faculty member Dr. Shari Ellsworth. Advanced SFA theatre majors serve as counselors.

Recreational activities such as movie night, theme parties and dances will be held during the workshop.

The workshop is open to 2016-17 high school seniors, juniors and sophomores.
